The purpose of the facility is to treat and purify the water used by continuous paper production plants by subjecting it to appropriate treatment before its reintroduction into the water cycle or its reuse in the industrial plant.

Automate the organization of the water treatment plant

The integrated automation systems we installed enable efficient organization of the water treatment plant, even from a remote terminal workstation. The plant draws the water used by the facility and, through various treatments, brings the water back within the required parameters by separating it from pollutants and waste materials.

How did we do it?

Every phase of purification, from the collection of water in the tanks, to the separation of water from waste, to its cleaning through specialized bacteria, is managed by our automatic PLC systems, which are capable of collecting in real time any necessary information, from water levels to its pH, and of automatically performing the required operations. All control panels are connected via PROFINET network to a main panel equipped with a supervisory PC (SCADA) located in the customer's production office, which enables control of the entire plant from a single workstation. The SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) enables real-time control of the entire plant, adjustment of process parameters, monitoring of actual data and alarm diagnostics, and visualization of plant status even remotely to allow modifications or troubleshooting directly from Ferrazza Srl headquarters. As is our standard practice, this SCADA was also custom-designed for the end user, from the graphics to the most important data to be kept constantly monitored, down to the format in which to export the data for graphing.
